Is there a device which will allow a laptop PC to connect to the internet over a cell phone?

If the cell phone has a built in modem u can simply use a bluetooth connection between the phone and laptop.

It also lets you transfer contacts and stuff to make backups...

check out sprint they have the phone and the service that you need. A friend of mine has it and it works well, he can dl at 15k a sec, better than dialup
