Not the best vendor but for the price, I couldn't pass it up.

That's a good price, but not from Tiger Direct. Never buy anything from that place:

also you can get $10 off it if you sign up for their spam (I might go for this and use my alternate email)

i thoughts they were suppose to be 199?
the PCI-express version is around $199, this is the AGP version. there arent many (any?) other cards of this caliper that are AGP, so its price is jacked up.
also, it is in canadian!
this would be a good price in USD as well, though. i havent seen it much below $250 USD, and this is about $210 USD. id say a good buy.
The canadian version is cheaper than the american. :D
I've seen some PCI-E going for 170-180 USD. But the AGP version is nearly the cost of the 6800 nu.

Buy.com (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10387999&dcaid=1688) has it for $229 US with free shipping.
There was also a $15 coupon for new shoppers floating around somewhere but I haven't been able to find it again.

I heard many many horror stories as well but I figure it's a retail box, how can they screw up shipping a retail box through UPS? And for the price? Other canadian vendors have that card for around $310. I'll let you all know when I get the card. Hopefully I'll be lucky and everything will go smoothly.

They screw up the retail box by reboxing and shrinkwrapping returns and shipping them out to customers as new items. A big scam a while back with Tiger was to buy something from them and send it back with a similiar product in the box. Get your money back and keep the original part. Tiger used to rarely check inside the box on returns (they still may not for all I know) I don't deal with them anymore.
The company I used to work for used to get just big pallets of returns just thrown in a box from Tiger - no paperwork or nothing. Sometimes you would just get raw product thrown in the pallet box with all the boxes. I've been told Tiger put together retail kits from returned parts.
The tech support group where I worked would get irrate calls from Tiger customers about getting shipped old processors, modems, NIC's -- just about anything other than the actual product.
I wouldn't buy anything from them

Well I got the card today, 3 business days after ordering it which is damn fast. I havent opened the package but it seems sealed fine and the card in there is a 6600GT (I can see it through the lil' window). I'll let you all know how it works when I install it tomorrow.

Good luck on the card. I'm interested to see what kind of 3dmark scores you can get out of it.

Yes but that's PCi-express, not AGP. I've seen them as low as $170 in PCI-e.

What is the difference? Is one a PCI laptop card and the other a card you install in the back of your PC?
PCI express is a new type bus used so far mostly videocards. That recently came out. It is going to replace AGP (Accelerate Graphics Port ) eventually, however most motherboards in use still are using AGP. Both cards are installed on a slot on the motherboard.

PCI express x1 format is also much faster than AGP x8 and pci-e x 16 for video cards is even faster. Unfortunately the current technology that exists doesn't allow you to see the benefit yet, but it's where the future of gaming is heading.
