XP Standby question

Is it possible to to remain downloading via p2p programs (kazaa etc) while in standby? Because I download alot but my power bill is through the roof every month.

A computer doesn't use that much juice. Standby mode is just trouble. My piece of crap dell laptop sometimes goes into standby on its own and then won't recover.

Nope.. standby won't help you there... fast user switch, but that really isn't doing anything..
Like ebola said though, your computer isn't drawing that much unless you have some pretty exotic cooling..
