i analyzed my tcp\ip and it told me that my mtu=522 and said to increase it to 1500 im not sure exactly what it is or means im new at this networking stuff should i increase it and if so how would i do that.i have 2 computers linked together with a crossover cable and using ics for the network , both are running windows 98se
my sytem specs are t-bird 900 on a kt7a m\b any help is appreiciated.

Get DR TCP from www.dslreports.com and you should be able to figure it out from there...very simple program to use. :)

its not that simple increasing MTU, perhaps u must follow some more procedures. they r all in the article. good luck.

thanks a lot guys dr mtu made a huge impact on my uploads it was around 25-45 kbps now its over 100 and downloads it was on average 600-700 now its always over 1000 kbps i changed the value of my mtu's from 4 hundred and something (cant remember exactly) to 1500 using dr mtu and that did the trick again thanks alot
