Explanation: Meteor experts don't think it's a meteor. Atmospheric scientists don't think it's lightning. The photographer insists that the streak and flash on the above image has not been created digitally. So what is it? Nobody is sure ..

interesting. . . i think i saw this on slashdot. The lightpost has no physical damage, but the elemtn inside is destroyed? Some surge of EM or something? It would be nice if we had more info, like the speed of the film (or the element that captured it, CMOS or CCD). exposure time, etc
