The problem is that after a recent bios flash, my system would not load the Win98 OS.
It gave me an error message after the spash screen that said it could not find the Krnl386.exe file or that the path could not be found.
Then after about a minute it gave another error saying the STACKS in the config.sys file caused a system resource error and halted the system.
Can anyone shed some light on why this may have happend?

Thanks.

Try flashing your BIOS back (use a DOS disk perhaps). You don't really need to update your BIOS unless your having trouble with the current one, you desperately need that cool new feature or some other pressing reason.

eg, I had BIOS v A08 for my mobo. I flashed to A10 and everything went haywire. Flashed back (you DO have a copy of your old BIOS< dont you...?) and no probs.

Actually, I did flash back to the previous bios. Both times the flash went through fine.
I have since been able to reload Win98 but only after doing a format of the HDD. Somehow the entire disk had gotten dumped into temporary directories by scandisk.
Previously, when I had such problems, I would just reinstall the OS and it would correct the problem.
Not this time!!
