I am considering a new Video card. I currently have a 9800se I flashed to pro running 427core 375 mem,. I am considering the 6800. I read where people OC the GT but have not found many OC on the ultra, Maybe because they don't need it. But do they OC or are they Maxed out from the Man. I am looking at the EVGA 6800gt for 400. Will I see a noticeable diff or should I just save my money. And what about the PSU issue. I have a 520 OCZ. What about WC this card?
Thanks
Steve
Hey I think that the 6800gt is better value for money than the 6800U. I think the reason you aren't seeing lots of overclocks on the 6800U is because they are still in short supply.
You probably won't see much of a difference between them and from what I've read, the 6800gt overclocks to 6800U speeds pretty easily most of the time.

6800gt also only only one molex. like he said does oc to ultra speed, or better most of the time. and has the same 16pipelines. like an ultra, and the same ram.

The 6800GT is a better deal if you ask me. The Ultra will overclock higher then the GT will of course but the GT almost 100% of them will overclock to the Ultra speeds. Most oc way past it.
Btw the diff from the Ultra to the GT is only like 5fps.

Thanks. I was leaning towards the GT for the value and the fact that it OC to a Ultra most of the time.

I agree the GT is a better value, you can always do the 1.4v core flash so the GT gets the same juice as the U, that seems to help reaching U and beyond speeds...
