BFG, guarrenteed to unlock along with Chaintech. but b4 u buy that card read this how close the card is to a 6600GT AGP. http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041119/geforce-6600gt-agp-17.html and dude u should really get a 6600GT AGP and go to a gig of ram like what i did.

darn. i dont think we got BFG here locally.. i dont wana buy outside coz warranty is hard to claim overseas! :( what other options? PALIT any good? heard somehwere it was.
yeah, that 6600GT is really fast huh? but, unlocking the 6800 or OCing it even just a little bit would start to break the 6600GT's legs.. i ask about this situation.. a lot suggested 6600GT.. but a significant amount suggested 6800 since it's really faster, can make it even faster... and the mere fact that it is them "new" ones.. bigger bandwidth? i dunno.. but i was convinced to go for the 6800nu (when i initially favored 6600GT).. i dont mind playing with my emotions and being convinced the other way around.. again.. shheeesh. hehe.
what say ye ol matey?

I thought you already bought your card...... ;)
Well, after checking a couple reviews, I would suggest getting the Inno3d over the Palit. The Inno3d seems to have 2.2ns memory over the Palit's 2.8ns, so you could probably get a good overclock out of it, something that some reviews have claimed.
However, both seem to be good cards made by reputable companies, so I don't think you have to worry about either.

Edit: As for choosing between a 6600GT or the 6800nu, I would go for the 6800nu every time. The 6800nu has a 256bit memory bus as opposed to the 6600GT's 128bit, and as you mentioned, there is a good shot of softmodding the card to a 6800GT or even a 6800 Ultra if you're extremely lucky.
hehehe. nope i havent yet. im still a few pennies short.. but im almost there!!!!!
hey thanks for your links man! so.. Inno3D is better ei.. i like it coz it follows the reference design of nvidia.
so how can i be sure that all Inno3D 6800's are made from that memory? i mean, dont they mix things up sometimes?

Uh no 6800nu is guaranteed to unlock, Toms hardware is generally garbage. Please stop making these ridiculous posts.\
6600GT is a great card for the money, but if you can get a 6800 for only 10-20$ more then 6800nu is worth it. If the 6800nu is 80$ more well then the 6600GT is the better deal.
**Getting Back on track: I love my 200$ PNY 6800 specs in my sig.
I vote for the Gainward Goldensample 6800GT.... they gauruntee an overclock to 6800Ultra clocks and the cooling system is byfar the best I've seen on a 6800GT to date. It does carry a price premium over other 6800GT's but you really can't go wrong seeing as they are gaurnteeing you and 6800 ultra out of a 6800gt. The software bundle is pretty shoddy, but seriously what gamer that's going to buy one of these cards doesn't already have the games that most companies bundle with thier vid cards anyways. Oh and the gainward also is a dual dvi setup. By the way... the performance on it is simply astounding.
hmm.. cant afford a GT version.. im barely affording the nu version...

Well, I can't guarantee that the Inno3d will have 2.2ns memory, but I found a few Japanese links on the subject. Too bad I can't read any of them.

As for the 6800 Premium, If you can, I would suggest just getting the regular 6800 and then purchase an Arctic Silencer 5 instead. However, doing so may cost more, and will void your warranty. Although the 6800 Premium has a stock OC to 800mhz, you can probably match that easily, or even surpass it with the Arctic Silencer 5.
As for the other brands mentioned, such as Gainward, BFG, Chaintech, etc, I recall that you are in the Phillipines, so I doubt you'll be able find them locally.

Ok lets get this straight as of right now , no one that i know of knows which card is 100% graunteed to be unlocked.
Like said before by many other people including me its just the luck of the draw, even if you dont manage the unlock the card, its still a 256bit mem bus card over the 128bit on the 6600GT, once you start overclocking the 6800NU will pull away from the 6600GT. Basicly the only reason why the 6600GT is similer in speed on stock is because its clocked really high. But like said above if the price diff becomes to high like $80 or more i would get the 6600GT. Whatever card you choose it should be a refrence Nvidia design and something with 2.2ns-2.5ns ram, that way with a refrence board you will have ab etter chance of unlocking the pipes and with the lower ns ram you can oc higher.
nicely said.. :)
the 6800 card here "is" $80 more.. but somehow im still leaning towards the 6800 coz though it may not be much difference now (6600GT vs 6800nu), a few months down the road and 6600GT will start to fade in performance.. this is what i experienced with my 9550xt.. the best bang for the buck card ever.. but.. i still cant play farcry well enough..
anyway, the most important fact for me as of this moment is, "how do i know if it's nVidia reference they followed"? it should say something on the box right? i could look up the website and see a different version of it on the streets.. so hard to tell.

Hey CandyMan, I was wondering how you managed to get your PNY so high? Is it possible to get it up there without water cooling? How far can you get it on stock?
I bet it performs like a 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition.
