Extreme G Drivers

i've heard a lot of good things about these "Extreme G" nvidia drivers. here are a few places...

well after Devour from EB asked for a comparison, i decided to do one. i think they're pretty good as far as quality goes, but you can be the judge of the performance.

i used Extreme G 67.02a, Extreme G 70.90, and nvidia's official ForceWare 67.02

these tests took forever! i originally planed to do Extreme G 67.02, 67.03, & 70.90, and nVidia 66.93, 67.02, 67.03, & 70.90..... but just takes too long! took me 2 days just to get these. enjoy.

i recommend giving them a try. extreme g 70.90 are already out. join their site and you can download their drivers.

Hmm, well i read through the whole thread on Nvnews, it seems while the drviers hav improoved performance and IQ as people claim, some people seem to be getting artifacts or wierd lines and stuff, sortal ike the 66.93 drivers do for HL2. I i will give these drivers a go but the first artifact i see on stock thier going in the trash bin, i never trust 3d party drivers even if performance goes up.


Also if you guys go here http://www.valancestudios.com/index.php, this is the main site for the drivers, they have the 66.81 drivers so the fixes in these are

-Increased Direct 3D Image Quality
-Increased Open GL Image Qaulity
-Built in Coolbits2
-Increased D3D Performance
-Increased Open GL Performance
-The problem with the drivers not uninstalling all the tweaks that come with the drivers has been fixed in Rev 1


Here are the fixes in the 67.02 drivers


-Increased Direct 3D Image Quality
-Increased Open GL Image Qaulity
-Built in Coolbits3D
-Increased D3D Performance over 66.93 Drivers
-Increased Open GL Performance over 66.93 Drivers
-Fixed the White lines issue in Counter-Strike Source
-Performance increases in every DX9 game and most DX8 titles
-3DMARK 2003 and 2005 performance tweaks
-And Many More Bug fixes and Enhancements
-98% of Non FPS related stuttering has been severely Diminished or non existant
-Many Half Life 2 and Cpu tweaks have been added


Ok an Edit: I tried them, funny thing is the 66.81, the 66.93 all the drivers before Nvidia's LOD clamp they put on the 67.02's look exsactly the same as the regular Nvidia drivers.

People claim that oh the shimmering is gone 3dmark05 looks better cuss the shimmering disapeared. They dont relise that was done by Nvidia not these Extreme G people. The 67.02 have the LOD clamp which clamps the drivers @ 0, this is why the IQ is better nothing more, the extreme G drivers didnt change anything this was done by Nvidia and the 67.02's.

Personlly i think all these people are doing is taking advantage of the new LOD clamp nvidia put on these drivers and telling people it was all done by them.... ROFL. 3dmark scores for me are the same maybe 20 point increase in 03 thats it. Ut2k4 and HL2 i get the same fps maybe 1-2 more but nothing variations in the test causes. Im going back to my old drivers, these to me are nothing diff from the regular drivers.

I love the 67.02 Xtreme G final release.

integrated coolbits? All right!
LOD clamp? Hell yeah!

Better IQ? subjective, but I am much happier with this driver set over the 65.73's.

Definitely worth taking a look at, if you haven't already.

No problems here (so far), and they clean up the shimmering in Desert Combat really really well - looks like it should now. :attn:
