i got 5005 the first time i marked it, then i upped the settings to 1280x1024 with a few extra goodies on and got around 4500. Is this a little low?

Change your SIG...lol if you now have 6800U.For a 6800U and your cpu id say its a little low on the default score.1280x1024 sounds about right. Is your cpu OCed? how about your VC?

i had my cpu overclocked, but it was really unstable, so i put it back down (i think i bumped the HT up a bit though....cant remember, i ll check in a bit).
i havent found a program to oc my vc yet though, so this is running stock. im just a little disappointed with the numbers, i was expecting higher. its still under store warranty, so im wondering if it should have a bit of an 'accident' and get one thats a bit more up to snuff.

Everyone always expect higher scores lol... Think of it this way. I got 5688 overclocked to 450/1180. The Ultra clocks are 400/1100, youre score of 5000 sound perfectly normal to me. Btw if you want high scores dont run using 1280x1024 resolutions.

well i paid 800 dollars for a video card, i kinda expect to get my full bang for buck. from what i've seen, stock ultra scores are around 5200

What kind of fps are you getting in games. Also 3d05 is a really tough bench.i cant break 4200.And i have my card OC"d and my cpu OC'd pretty good to.But it's all about how it plays your games more than your your bench marks. What do you you get in 3D03 i bet its over 13,000.

dont have 03, i might have it on cd somewhere though.
half life 2 lags like a mofo, but its pretty much only right after level loads, so im guessing its due to page filling (i have 512...so i SHOULD be okay, but im looking into that). Doom 3 doesnt like me much either, but im not quite sure what settings it should be at. More or less, high everything, no AA, no AF, and 1280x1024 and it runs okayish, lags every now and then. cpu bottleneck? 60-100ish frames in cs source with those settings.

Sometime this comming year i wanna build a new PC with a AMD 64 bit 3400 -4000+ cpu.But im sure i will end up with the 3000 or the 3200+.So im not putting down the Cpu at all just to let u know.

500t dosent seem that bad for 05. I get 4391 with my comp. The 3000+ is only 1.8ghz so I think that is your bottle neck. I currently run my 2600M+ @ 2ghz. So you definately overclocker your cpu some if you want higher scores. You should be able to get somethign decent with the xp-120 on your cpu. Or at least something better then 1.8ghz.

To properly bench you should leave it at default. (1076) and set everything to peformance.
Also you gotta remember that benchmarks are HIGHLY driver dependant. I bet if you update your drivers to the latest ones on either Guru3d or nVidia's main site, you will see as much as a 600 point increase.

Youre problem with Half life 2 and Doom3, is the lack of system memory, youre not ganan be able to turn the resolution with AA/AF and Image quality up without running outa memory.
I can run Doom3 @ 1600x1200 with 4xAA 16xAF and highest in game details and get 60fps, but the game uses all my 1024mb of memory and its starts to jerk a little bit here and thier on parts of the maps like when i open new doors and stuff. Youre problem sound like a memory problem not video related.

Ya thats what i was thinking, my friend agreed with you too. I'm gunna get another stick of ram on boxing day when its (hopefully) cheaper.
Oh, and the s754 3000+ is 2 ghz, its the 90nm and the sempron that are 1.8 ghz. Mine only overclocks to 2.15 fairly unstable though, which is a bit of a disappointment, though its prob just because the soltek board doesnt go to a very high core voltage

lol.
i cant beleive its gotten to the point where 512 just isnt good enough anymore. or how my video card has more memory than my first computer had hard drive space. in fact, my video card itself has a faster core, and more and faster memory than my entire old computer did.....and cost about the same haha.
so ya i'm gunna pick up some more ram when im down at the store tommorrow. i was gunna pick up one of those 300gb maxtor drives too, but i dont think i ll have enough money for christmas presents then.
thanx for all the help guys! nice to know that its not just my vid card (or at least we ll know for sure once i get more ram)

Yeah the 512 will REALLY help also you can run it in DC then and that will gain you some also....i had LARGE LARGE doom 3 probs with a 2.42 ghz m-A and 768 ram an 9800pro and that was lagging like a bitch...

I can tell you everthing runs much better with 1024 mb of ram when i had just 512 almost every game i played stuttered in certain spots but with the 2x512 it's smooth. For a while i had 4 sticks of ram 2x512 and 2x256 on my board and my games flew.My next rig is getting 4x512mb or 2x102 sticks..I loved the way this PC ran with 1536 mb's of ram so 2048mb has got to be even better.

I dont fold for PMS(fishy) but my GF has PMS all the time..lol.Im piecing a folder together now.I just need some EDO pc100 and a OS.But im totally broke at the moment so its on hold.Till i find a new job..But when i get it up and running ill help em out.

Yeah, I agree, Doom3/HL2/FarCry loves my 1gb.
Lets just say my load time in FarCry was 7minutes long under 256mb... and now its only 1 min under 1gb :-)
