Just wondering if you all think i should wait till before christmas. to see if any good deals come out or not. i could pay 400 for BFG or wait for maybe gainward or rebates or percents off anything from anywhere. So do you all think there will be deals right before christmas?

Don't get a 6800GT. A few people I know bought them. They have 2 problems. 1 with processes ( Runs at 100% a lot And strain on CPU and forgot the other. TRy a x850. IF u have to get a 6800Gt, buy it now b4 they get sold out.

x850 is pci-e, and probably going to cost $600 bucks, maybe more depending on supply/demad. Probably not the option he was looking for.
x-mas is so close now, just wait. Doubtful there will be any deals, but you never know.

to the original poster in my opinion I would just get it now, I think they will sell out the close we get to x-mas.

That was with the early 6800s. That is not longer an issue now. Plus that was in reference to the lack of the videoprocessor and how it would require massive amouns of CPU power to watch HDTV apps

I think there are a few 6800GT's out there with the borked vpu's my gainward I bought last week shows 60% cpu usage while watching the hd vids on wmp9, would this qualify it as broken?. Strange thing is that dvd watching using hardware acceleration is 1% cpu usage so I don't know if it's doa or not. However don't let this issue discourage your buying descisions as the 6800GT is still a smokin hot vid card and performs excellently. DVD image quality is a huge step above the 9800pro from what I've seen so far, and lets be honest... who cares if cpu useage is high while watching hd clips or dvd's are you really multitasking while enjoying your favorite movie/ video clip? ;).

where did u get your gainward....I really want one but i only see em NOT IN @ newegg. What other sites are gainward on?
I got my gainward from a retailer in my city called MemoryExpress.
First try closing any un needed processes with task manager. Then play the step into liquid video. Not just any video it has to be 1080i? HD. If the CPU is above 20% it isnt working as the vpu should do almost if not all the work and only your normal processes will show using the cpu.
