figured this would be my best bet for an asnwer :)
Basically i want a voltmeter that runs on 12V, so i can wire it to a constant 12V power source, and it has to be rated for continuous usage. (hours at a time)
Digital works, older needle type ones have a better "at a glace" type of feeling for me...
Its actually going ot be used in my car to monitor my car battery, im adding several extra drains on it, some of which will be used when the car is off, so i want to be abel to know when my battery is getting low....as to not have to jump it :)
It wont be on all the time, just when im using power. Everything i add will be on a master switch, and off when im not in the car. (as to not kill my battery...duh?)
my biggest challenge is im flat BROKE. (college, new semester, xmas....new hdd :) )
so yeah...under $10, nifty, durable, and 12V DC input. (or i could use an adaptor on my invertor to give it any voltage, but 12V makes it simple)
