I have an eVGA 6800GT that with using Coolbits and the Detect Optimal Settings for clockspeeds the driver set me to this.

Has anyone seen these cards try to overclock this high on stock cooling solutions.

Thats un realistic, i can garuntee you 100% and everything i own that ur card wont OC to a 600 core. Its prob some bug in coolbit's. Have you tried re-running the Detect thingy again

Perhaps run some benchmarks and see what numbers you are getting. If there is no difference then it is just a bug.

That happens to a lot of the 6800's. I know my eVGA 6800gt does. If you've got the stock cooling, just put it up at 415/1100 - 1200 and you'll be right about where that cards tops off with stock cooling.

your card may have alot of potential?
id give 3rd party cooling a try if u want to max out the card

Hey candyman want to make the same bet with me? I can OC my core to 620mhz on stock cooling, and it will be stable, though loaded with artifacts! 600 on a cool day is realistic, and I have been able to run HL2 and DOOM3 for hours with that speed setting. I currently keep it set to 580 to allow for warmer days, and in the past 2 weeks, I have not run into a single hitch.
As for the RAM, 1400 would be a phenominal overclock. I doubt short of more voltage that the ram would reach such speeds. I'm topping out at between 1220 and 1240 (Again, based on the weather!) which is still pretty impressive. I'd like to try out the new 1.6ns XFX board and see how high it goes!

I hope my ordered 6600GT has the 1.6ns memory, it prolly wont, but I still be happy :D
