View Full Version : need to turn 300$ in to a mobo
whats the best motherboard I can get for 300$, only reqiremnt is it has to support my 2gh p4 chip, will be a while till I have $ for new chip. So basically want the best for 300$, has to support my 2gh p4 as well as the high end like 3gh+ to future upgrading.
thanks

You would have to go 775 I believe if you wanted to be furture proof, but you would have to upgrade everything else. You still could go 478 though too. I'd look at the asus boards. I'm not an intel person, but I can tell you asus makes nice boards. Sorry I'm not much help.

lol
you could afford 2 awseom ones for thatprice
is this canadian or US ?
myself i hve an Abit AI7 and i love it but it has iffy support for prescott if you want to over clock - better with an IC* Max or something
jeez! i dont think i'v ever seen a single socket 478 mobo running to the $300 mark
heck, for a good sli mobo today, your not even @ 300 bucks!
if i were you, id save up a little bit more money, get a sli board(if your nvidia) and get a the the cheapest possible cpu for the board (still better than what you have - likely)
or.....
well if you want to upgrade your mobo, your really looking in the $200 range for the best, of the best (a board that can support a 3.8 pressie aka the end of the line for socket 478)
