What's up with the stats? [Archive]

They are negative because when the stats are zeroed the statsman program sees that as a drop, every team will have a negative of whatever they had, and the same with every person.

I'm wondering if this has something to do with today's events. The stats were out during the afternoon and then the 6:41PM update was up w/ the cleared slate.

Um...check this (http://www.statsman.org/foldingstats/users.html) out. Ploaf mentioned the beta tests in this post (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34907) and the fact that the "numbers" system was now being used.

All the top users since the stats were cleared have numbers instead of "user names". Looks like this in fact might have something to do w/ the 2.0 client??

I was just about to break 4000 now I'm counting down to 0 then back to 4000 Man I need another folding Box. Should I get an Intel or an AMD LOL (Thats Just a Joke Calm Down)

That number thing in the top 1000 is probably either a stats glitch or it is someone running a script to screw with the stats. That happened a couple of months or so ago too. I don't know what the conclusion was. The stats this time should be the same as Genome with the number being for the team only and not for individual users. You should still be able to choose your own username just like now. The team numbers are a little more strict than simply typing in a name and I think it was done to help people who are signing up to get the team right.

Man that's crazy. I don't see how I got to #1 with just a couple boxes running. I've got all of them running now though.

And what's this thing about AMD and Intel I saw? I haven't been hanging around this forum long, so I guess I missesd something. So far my machines all seem to be doing about the same clock for clock. My P3S machines appear to be running about as fast as my Palomino, but certainly not better. Was somebody arguing that intel is way better for folding or something of that nature?

It's kinda like a Ford guy and a Chevy guy sitting around drinking beers. It starts out as little jabs of fun at each other. Chevy sucks no Ford sucks. A few more beers and somebody gets punched in the nose. After the hang-over goes away there back to drinking beer and somebody gets punched in the nose. LOL

Well, the good thing is we passed up Arstechnica and DSL reports in addition to the nerdz all in one day... we just gotta crank the production now and not let [H] get too far ahead like they did before.... :)

I put all of my Seti boxes into Folding service tonight - that should add some serious capacity to the team.

Well they're also running Seti - but so far the completion times haven't taken a huge hit. Even if it cuts completion times in half, most of them are fast machines and should be helpful.

oh come on now guy's lets cool our jets, we are all entitled to our opinions, and they are just that opinoins. we are all still folding and its ok to not want to hear about something over and over, i can see how it might get on someones nervs and treker can voice it if he wants and i dont think there is anything wrong with that, but some of us are interested in whats going on with the stats, and we too are entiteled to talk about it, it hate to see peopleget upset about disagreements

thats true treker but we are all still folding as far as i know, i know that i am, we dont just do it for competitive purposes that is just a side affect, i could really care less about my score, but it is nice to know where your team places and how much you have contributed to this betterment, you know? :)

Hey TC if your rigs are not slowing down on SETI is that because you've got folding set at IDLE and they are all waiting for seti to get out of the way before starting? But I'm sure you've got that sorted.

hehe SETI is funny though, I always thought finding intelligent life here on the planet was difficult enough...:p

How do I know the console is set to "idle" My Seti times have not slowed down more than about 30 minutes at most on my slowest box. Folding seems to finish units MUCH faster than Seti - or else the 300 something results I have in less than a week are not work units. I guess I'm confused because I've seen people bragging about getting 100 units, yet I had almost 100 in a couple days. Seems like one box was doing 30 something per day :confused:
