WiFi Detection

They have many devices that are able to detect wifi connectability that they sell online. I find these interesting and would like to make my own. I could not find any schematics on such detection devices. Would anyone have any sources I could look at or maybe an explanation on how they work? Thank you

Hmm interesting, i know you couldnt go down the normal scanner route because Wireless Uses Spread-spectrum.

Attually to think about it, that wouldnt matter, you would need any data off the network for a simple detector, i mean all you would really need is something that can detect a 2.4Ghz signal. That'd work but you'd have problems with microwaves and crap giving false positives.
