I want to set my computer (running Windows XP) to automatically switch user (or prompt for password) after x amount of inactivity. I don't want a screen saver to come up or anything, or to go into standby, I just want it to lock and prompt for a password. I know this is possible; can anyone help?

Set the screensaver to blank, and set the timer for when you want the prompt to come up, then select the checkbox for on resume require password. This is the most simple way, and there is no drawback to letting the blank screensaver run.

I believe those are the only options... Let me know if you find exactly what your looking for though. I would like to know about it also.

He's right, as far as anything built into Winxp. Don't understand why that wouldn't work; seems to be exactly what you're asking for.
