i ordered a UPS thru best buy's website on 8/31 with next day shipping. i'm still waiting.......
i emailed em yesterday and asked what was going on....here I find out that the item is on backorder (it said nothing about backorder when i was ordering it...that's just incompetency IMO) and it was pretty much pointless for me to get next day shipping if it's gonna take me 3 weeks to get it
so here i am out a couple hundred bucks and UPSless, still waiting

You should be able to cancel the order.

yeah, but it's a bit complicated as i used someone else's credit card. bestbuy said they didn't charge the card, BUT the guy whose card i used said discover called him and asked if i had used the card (since it was to be shipped to a diff address and it was a substantial amount). so i think they're lying and actually DID charge the card
either way it's more complicated than it should be and i don't particularly need the extra grief at the moment

hip hip hooray, I finally got it today!
(the box was torn, but the unit works fine)
Note to self: Never order from Best Buy again!
You can order online and pick it up the next day taht is what I usually do so that they have teh good deal items instock but the folks at BB take about 30minutes to find it every time!!!

that wouldn't be a bad idea, but i live an hour or so drive from the nearest best buy. plus the shipping on this was ultra-cheap (like $14 for next day shipping on a 28lb. UPS)

You guys do realize that most mail is transported by the same things that were not allowed to do their jobs for about 4 days.....Planes.....
Everything is going to be late. You just have to bear it.

I would go with Best Buy is lying. My roomate just ordered a new cd player, and Best Buy billed him twice for it. I think Best Buy Online can be the worst buy. I like buying from the store there. You usely can pick up some nice deals with the open box buys. Of course the only interent shopping I really trust is ebay. This is because you know who you are dealing with and their past occurences.

Well.... if you own a company with 100 people and everyday theres 4000 people buying different things, do you think you can give them the nxt day after they order..
Well, they should but the tax needed for time
like 4 months $0 tax
nxt day - 50%
umm... i know thats sad!
however, is there some company that you order and they give you the product and then you pay to the delivery man? (So one hand money, one hand goods)<Chinese Proverbs

I used to trust ebay, but it got too popular. any site with that many independent dealers is too unsafe for my liking--too many con artists in the world today

i know exactly what you're saying. but i paid for next day shipping and that was what i expected...not 2 week shipping. And I don't know of a C.O.D. dealer, but I'd love to hear about some if anyone else knows of any...
