X800Se or 6800 standard?

I'm building a computer for my younger brother and my dad just doesn't feel like spending $400 for a 6800GT so we're on a budget.

I'm wondering which card is faster stock for stock?

Which one has shown better overclocking performance and potential?

the se is 425/800 compared to the 6800's 325/700. Thats stock, as far as overclocking, i'm not sure, I only have a 9600xt

True, but then again, the 6800GT and ultra are both clocked lower than the respective ati contender and are both faster. It's all in the architecture. Sorta like amd's and intels. :eh?:
