This problem came out of no where.

Whenever I play a video file in windows media player, half of the screen (diagonaly) is either pink or green.

is this some sort of codec error?

how would i go about fixing it?

i had this problem once before but i forget how to fix it
any help would be deeply appreciated

thanks

I had the exact same thing happen this weekend. I did a search on yahoo for "WMV Codec", and came up with a microsoft WMV codec pack. After installing it, everything was fine again.

I recommend defiler pack for all your codec needs. If something isn't playing properly, make sure you have the up to date version. You can get it here. It's easy and free. I have that one, and I don't have any problems playing videos.
