Just wanted to get some feedback from people that have taken apart the RBX waterblock and their experiences with leak integrity.
I've been running an evap cooling setup and the showerhead I was using was *supposed* to be chromed on the inside. After running it for a week and doing a swab test on the inside of the block, I have....you guessed it....galvanic corrosion going on. The only two metallic objects in the loop are the WB and the showerhead. So I figure the showerhead is not chrome on the inside as I was told but aluminum (grumble...)... :argue:
So I'm going to have to get (or maybe design...hmm....copper plate and pipe....) a new water dispersal unit. If anyone has any suggestions on a new showerhead, I'd be glad to get them.
But back to my question.....I cleaned and washed the interior of the WB with isopropyl alcohol, let dry, and then remounted the polycarb top (I should have sprung for the brass top) on the copper block. I also removed the #1 plate and installed the #4 plate. Has anyone had any leak problems with this block after opening it and doing cleaning/maintenance?
Thanks!!
PS - I, of course, will leak test the loop under pressure for a few days. ;) I use distilled water.
