Hello everyone,

I have what is probably a simple question, but I personally have never come across this before. I setup a new system yesterday with a 120gb hd and made a 50gb partition prior to installing win xp pro. My question is how do I get the other 70 gb to be active?

The hd was formated using NTFS.

Open diskmgmt.msc and you can format the unformatted space from there. ;)

right "my computer" and go to "Computer Management" then under storage select "Disk Management". Both the partion you created and the unallocated space will be there.
Right click on the unallocated space and click format.

The space isn't hidden. Its just windws can't read it because it hasn't been allocated.
