View Full Version : Heat Sink advice please
I've got a PIII700 that will go as high as 1071 using the stock H/S and fan but the high temp makes it unstable.
The Swiftech 462 is a little out of my price range, which other H/S will do the job best?
Thanks,
Wam

the Swiftech 462 wont work anyway, the Swiftech 370 will but it is the same price, the best heatsinks to consider are the SK6 and the Silver mountain
Where can you get the Silver Mountain here in the UK... I've read good things about the Gladiator as well but cost to import it make it prohibitive!:(

MCX370 is not the same price as the MC462. I haven't been keeping up to know exact prices and vendors, but I have seen the bare heatsink (no fan) for around 25-30 dollars US. The MC462 bare heatsink is around 45-55 dollars US.
The MCX370 would do you fine, and it would be one of the ones I would recommend, that or the SK6 right now.

you can get the silver mountain from overclockingstore.co.uk, you can get the Gladiator from overclock.co.uk (i think)
Thanks for the feedback... after doing some additional research I'll probably go with the Silvermountain due to it's comparative performance but lower price.
