I’m pretty heavy into gaming, and I’d like every advantage I can get. The two games that I play a lot are Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Source; I’m pretty sure at least CoD supports EAX.
Well I want to know if using EAX is going to give me better positional sound even if I’m only using two channels (headphones). When it comes to two channel output, I’m pretty well off using my Chaintech card and the high quality output, but that doesn’t have any EAX support.
My old Santa Cruz supported up to EAX2, but I never used it because it was kinda buggy.
Edit: I'm not talking about replacing my chaintech with an Audigy or whatever, but rather running a dual soundcard setup (chaintech for music, other for everything else).
