Negatively affect the performance of my NIC?

I realize raising the FSB raises the PCI and AGP slots also. Everything else is working great(except high temps still) and the system is stable at 147FSB, but it seems that web pages are loading slowly on my computer.

I have this computer(see sig) and a 533 Celeron emachine hooked up to a cable modem and it seems the 533 loads pages faster:(

Anything I can do to clear this up? Settings? New NIC?

Sometimes yes sometimes no? It'll always be a trial & error thing everytime you go out of spec

Some NICs really don't like high FSBs, they're quite often the first devices to complain.

A few of my freinds & I use a really cheap NIC(CNET PRO200B) about $10 & it works fine with high FSBs 'cause it just a simple one with no features like some 3COM stuff. Plain & simple with almost nothing to go wrong.

I use 3Com NIC's and D-Link NIC's and haven't had any problems with fsb settings above 150.

Maybe after trying to overclock you might have gotten some corruption in you software causing the browser to malfucntion. I found out the hardway after a few failed attempts o/c.

chawken - woooooooooooooooooooops:o I was just thinking that less features = less headaches. Didnt mean to put down 3COM.

Since I am a cheap *******, the NIC I have is the cheapest one I could find at Newegg.com, $16 shipped I think. I don't even remember the brand:)

I figured out that having both the computers hooked through the Motorola Surfboard modem, and on at the same time(one using ethernet and one using USB connections) was causing the problem.

I will just have to disconnect the other computer when I want full speed I guess.

Thanks for the help:)

Hmm..... bigger bandwidth ate up the signal huh
