How do i hook up my sata?

I just got a 80gig hitachi sata drive in today and i want to hook it up, but im not sure how the connectors go, you get two, a small thin cable and then a little larger cable with a power connnector lead on it im not sure how this cable goes...can someone explain this..?

I think you mean these 2 cables:

They both only fit one way. The first cable goes to a standard 4 pin molex and then to your HD with the broad flat connector. The other cable goes from your mobo's sata connector to your HD.

well the first cable i got has 2 sata connectors, so one goes into the drive the other to the psu, what about the connector on the drive itself for the psu, that gets hooked up also?

The one with the 2 sata heads hooks up to your mobo or sata card and then to the drive. The other cable hooks up to the psu and then the drive (gotta power the thing ;)).

DO NOT use both a SATA power connector and a 4-pin molex connector on the drive. Use one or the other.
