The problem I am about to describe is the SECOND TIME it has happended after being sent in for warranty for replacement! This is absolutely frustrating!....

In about May of 2004 I purchased the system and all was well until August. I noticed that I was gettin a hiss from my front left speaker, particularly in songs/movies where there was strong bass. Not thinking much of it, I resumed normal use. The hiss kept getting stronger, sounding like the speaker was blown so I started doing some testing. I started swapping speakers that were connected in the front left channel and it turned out that ALL the speakers were seeing the same effect. Hence, the channel from the subwoofer is the problem not the speaker(s). I contacted support right away and they issued me an RMA. I didn't ship it right away (got busy with work) and during this time (roughly a week) THREE OTHER CHANNELS were now experienceing the same effect...Front left, Side Right, and Rear Left! BY THE DAY I shipped it, I HAD LOST COMPLETE SOUND OUTPUT from the Front left and Side Right speakers. Obviously, I shipped it (Cost me 50 Candian Dollars to ship the **bleep** thing from Alberta Canada to Stillwater Oklahoma!) and ONE MONTH later I get the system back AND to my surprise, as I'm opening the box, all the usually papers fall out (reciept of rma, etc etc) and then on one of the sheets it says that the replacement Sub that I had received may be REFURBISHED!

Now seriously, what kind of crap is that. I pay 500 dollars to get a REFURBISHED product back after I had to send it in for replacement because of their own malfunction!!?!!? That's not even the half of it....

I write to you today because this EXACT PROBLEM HAS NOW HAPPENDED TO MY REPLACEMENT set with the exception that it the hiss is comming from the Side Left Speaker! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY Ridiculous.

Has ANYone, Anyone At all experienced this same problem?? I know for sure @ least one person has on this forum. The link to the thread is below!!!

"my rear left speaker sounds distorted like a blown speaker everytime i listen to anything. i've hooked every other speaker to that channel and they all do it, but when i have the speakers hooked to any other channel they sound perfectly fine. i've tinkered with all the settings in the volume control and everywhere else. could this be something wrong in the rear left output jack in the sub box? or a soundcard problem? i've tried hooking other speakers to the soundcard but don't hear any distortion. i want to make sure this is a problem with the plug before i try to send it back for repair. thanks "

bump for the fact that i have now given up on this damn subwoofer (my third is now crapping out) and i intended to hook it up directly to an AV Receiver 7 channel direct input from the sound card (Probably an HK AVR-235).
