hi all,

i have recently started getting in the water cooling thing and have done my first set up, but i need to move some things about as its a pain in the ass at the mo - eg ill move the drives to the 5.25 bays and the rad to the front in thier place - i might get some larger tubing also ( although this size is quite normal over here in europe) also i can move the PSU back to its original position.

OR
if anyone has some other ideas then please let me know.

any comments or Q's also???

thanks rob.

the foam is there as its a heatercore, it came that way and no reason to take it off as its solid on the sides.

the white foam is there to provide aseal between the HC and the case so the air has to go thru the HC .

if u mean whats on the front of the HC then thats dust :(

No, one the side of your heatercore facing into the case, there's a big thing of foam over it, how cna any air get through it?

ah ok i see what u mean now, there is no foam on the front of the HC, it just looks like that because of the angle and the dust -

a closer pic for u

ahh, alright. Sorry about that.

Man, you should blow the dust out of that heatercore too, it will help your temps some.

yes keep meaning to get the vacuum on it to get the dust out! as for the tubing all i know is that its PUR tubing 8/6mm. as i said im thinking of changing to larger tubing.

a Q 4 everyone - what sort of CPU temps should i be getting on an unclocked amd 2600???? according to MBM 5 the die is 14c, socket 33c and case 37c ( which isnt possible as the case is open in a room at 20c) so dont trust those temps too much.

What does your BIOS say?
BTW what setup are you running?

bios says cpu 33, and 37 for the case( 39 now) but te case temp is bull, no way is there a 20C diff as the case is open, duff sensor or its getting heat from something else.

Your cpu temp is off, by quite a bit.

If I was you I wouldn't let a vaccum anywhere near my rig. Doing so may end up killing your rig.

clean setup, nice shroud...i'd recommend 2 120's though...also, what size tubing is that, it does look relativly small... good job though!

Vacuums can build up a static charge real fast, that could fry your PC or parts of it. With that said I have done it a few times and not had a problem but I am also careful not to go near any of the PC components / boards.
PS what Rad are you using?

ja, i made the shroud myself, it took about 25 mins to do, i have access to a box folder so its easy to do, took longer to cut the holes out than fold the aluminium.

i am going to redesign it so the HC sits inside it, that way it will seal better
