Finally, after two days of grueling problems with Win2k installations, I have my 1000 AYHJA Y up and running...only thing is that it's at 46 C, rigth now :( Actually, that's pretty decent, considering my dorm room is REALLY hot! I'm gonna hit the 1600 mark as soon as I can, I'll keep you guys posted :D

Good luck with it! My install of 2K went smoothly, but it didn't run all the games I wanted, so I rolled back to 98. But keep an eye on them temps. Add some case fans, if'n you can.

Good job dude. I wish I could have a computer. I have a nice one, but not that good.

It's been such a b*tch to get everything going. My tbird must be locked, cause anytime I try to change the multiplier from default it doesn't recognize it

My 3D2001 Marks are only like 5700 with an overclocked GF3! :( 7000 is the point to reach with the GF3, isn't it? Or maybe I'm dreaming and it's 6000...that's after the 21.41 drivers, too, I was getting about 4800 with the original drivers on the Hercules CD. Anyone got any ideas? It's most likely because of the speed drop on my processor...killed my 1333 AXIA and so I'm running a 1000 AYHJA Y...gotta unlock and overclock to get my scores up...

if the L1 bridges are locked on your cpu, grab a #2 mechanical pencil and unlock'em. id post a link but i dont have time here......SOMEONE POST A LINK AND HELP THIS GUY OUT FOR THE SAKE OF OVERCLOCKING....hehe

well anywho, its not hard, www.tomshardware.com has the info needed to unlock it burried somewhere within its website. But thats how i unlocked mine and its been a little over two months and not a single problem.

UPDATE!!
heres another site with full directions....remember this is for overclocking and attempt at your own risk...bla bla bla the whole no fault thing......
enjoy

Yeah, I know the "connect the L1 bridges" trick, but thx for the full guide, might cover something I didn't know about. I'll get to overclocking tomorrow afternoon when my weekend starts...damn i love college :D

Alright, got my penciling to work on the first try :p

Just up at 1133, right now, but at 45 C...higher than I'm used to running, but still pretty decent. I tried to go up to 1.4 right away but windows was having errors on startup, and I didnt' want to increase the voltage too much. I had it up at 1.9V. Anyone have any experience with 1000 AYHJA Ys to provide a tried and tested voltage/bus/multiplier table? It would be much appreciated.

I installed the same CPU a few weeks ago. I was able to boot into windows up to about 1500 and do some websurfing, but anything more strenuous (like folding) and it would lock up. Everything worked at 1466 but it ran too warm for my taste (around 55C full load). My room temp was about 28C at the time though. Now that it's cooler I'm going to try to crank it up a bit. Full load now is about 48C at 23C ambient. Still, a 40% overclock on an $89 chip is pretty acceptable to me.
