I am trying to design a "high end" water cooling system. I have come across a copper tube/fin radiator design that is used in competitive racing. There is a fan module that comes with the radiator and I am interested to know if these fans which are usually powered by an automobile's electrical system will run with a standard atx power sypply.

I am currently using a 400W supply. The fan is rated at 5.0 amps...Thanks in advance!!

I believe you need a separate ATX/AT powersupply for it......but I could be wrong

anybody?

I fully intend to use a separate power supply...I am just wondering if running this fan from a power supply instead of an automobile electrical system will work??

yes it will work I believe

at atx puts out 10amps at 12volts so it should be ok
