the game is Diablo 2. Everytime i try to launch the game, it says please insert the play disc in the CD drive then click retry. But the thing is that the play disc is in the drive. Another thing that mght be helpful is that i played diablo 2 fine before i reforamatted my hard drive. Ever since the reformat, that error message has been popping up.

Any help would be appreciated. THX

try moving the entire CD to the harddrive and then installing from there that should remove the error adn I think you can even delete the install directory too. Works with about 75% of the games I play in win2k.

i can't install from hard drive cause when i copy the disks onto my hard drive, and execute the install program, it says that a .dll file is missing.

I had the same problem, cleaning the CD fixed it.
