My Gainward Ti200 just started giving me problems playing DVDs. With PowerDVD I get a 'can't play this copy-protected DVD (it does this with all DVDs) because the TV out function is not working properly'. I've never even used the TV out. With WINDVD I get a 'create overlay failed-try lowering resolution/color' message. No problems with any other apps (games, surfing, etc.).
Tried re-installing the software/drivers. Pulled out the card, put it back in, etc.
This thing dying on me?

Was able to answer my own question. Nothing wrong with the vid card. I just needed to reset my hardware acceleration to full. That re-enabled DirectDraw, AGP support (DXDIAG). This seems to be a fairly common problem and this link is good stuff. A number of possible causes and most of the fixes are right here.

The only reason I can come up with as to why this suddenly happened is that it got really cold in my house when I was at work. The cold also reset my OC from 187*12 to 133*5.

I had my PC act up recently when the temperature was low. I remembered recently turning on my PC just to get one long bleep and three short bleeps. I was required to take out the video card, blow warm air on it then reseat the video card just to get the motherboard to POST.
With my Soyo SY-K7VTA-B motherboard, when the room temperature was at approximately 40 F degrees one morning, because I had a box fan in my window, back in probably 2002, after I woke up and turned my PC on, all I got was the voice bitching at me about my video card not being installed properly. After, I pressed the reset button or turned it off then back on, it POSTED and booted Windows.
Has anyone else gotten that problem before?
