I have HP Pavilion 752n PC, and was thinking of upgrading the video card. Right now it just runs on on-board video, but it does have what looks like an AGP slot.
Its same brown color as standard AGP slots, but its shorter (only has 2 sections instead of 3). Will a standard AGP card fit in there? If not what kind of card is that slot made for.

Thank you,

Boris.

I don't think that is an agp slot, sounds like a brown pci slot to me.

Your link says otherwise. Says midrange 700's has a agp slot :santa:

Beware the HP Pavilion 700 series' video configuration. HP's base model with a 2GHz Pentium 4, the Pavilion 752n, relies on the video capabilities built into the Intel i845GL motherboard chipset, omitting an AGP slot. This commits you to poor 3D performance with no chance of upgrading in the future. On the upside, the 752n includes 512MB of memory, so you won't take a performance hit from the 40MB of RAM that the video subsystem grabs.

The 792n leaves some room for expansion.
Choose the 2.26GHz or faster CPU if there's even a chance that you'll want solid 3D performance. (Even if you're not a gamer, you may need 3D abilities; some video-editing packages take advantage of 3D acceleration for titling, for instance.) These configurations use a motherboard with an AGP slot and can be configured with GeForce4 MX- or Ti-series video cards (the latter is the best choice for gamers) or with the TV-tuner-equipped ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 7500.
