ahhhhhhhhh :bang head

Eheim 1048 300l/h Pump is making that ehhhhh ratteling noise constantly.

WHat I did is get a new Innovatek Header Tank (the ones that you attached straight to the pump intake) cause the old one was leaking slightly from the top (not really a problem just could not fill fill it to the top).

anyway after I installed it bleed the system all was fine. great I though....
so I did some housework and I came back after 10 minutes there was that ratteling nouse coming from the pump... I didnt understand. I made sure no air was in the system moved my radiator around etc.. i could see no air moving in the hose... well reinstall the resorvoir noise is away comes back again after 10 minutes... take the whole pump and resorvoir into the bathtub :)

submerged the pump... fine... submerged the pump with resorvoir not fine??? :bang head

ok install my old resorvoir again..... all works... 10 minutes later I have the ratteling noise again...

why? :bang head

I didnt do anything!? the system is exactly like yesterday and the other 100 or so days I have been using it and it doesnt matter what I try the pump keeps making that noise....
help

EDIT: the noise has died down a little but is still there. I bought the new HPPS pump from enheim.

Is it a vibrating noise? Do you have foam around your pump? Or is it air bubble noise?

If it is not air it might be a change in seating making it rattle such as against the side of the computer. It is not possible you got anything cloged up int the pump is there?

Well Ok talked to some Innovatek Admin and he said its theflying wheel or whatever its called ratteling inside... why it hasnt happened before he doesnt understand but there is a mod to change the fly wheel to fix the ratteling.

Maybe when you were bleeding the system, too much air went through your pump or something.

I know I know it must be air, but why did it happen twice; well I bleed the system and after I bleed it the pump was silent and then after 10 minutes it went loud (2 times)

Now after 3 hours the pump is silent again.... :bang head

I dont know if you have taken out that rotar fly wheel thing out of an Eheim pump but air can get trapped between the rod and the gab which is not supposed to happen its soppused to contain water but i wiggled the pump around to get the air out but nothing happened...

now it works... and t/m I am getting the HPPS.
anyway better pump plus 12V and I can finally get the pump into my case (its outside now) so shorter tubing better pump hopefully a bit less temp (doubt it) but hey.. at least I got a backup pump (and an US volatage one too :santa: doesnt work in UK obviously)
