how can i disable the windows xp firewall without going into the control panel?? please let me know?

Why exactly can't you do it through the control panel?

if you have the little shield dealy in the bottom right, double click on it.

right click on my network places,right click on properties,right click on local area conection,right click on properties ,click on the advanced tab,then settings your there

Start | Run | Type...firewall.cpl, and click OK. You can also access it from the Security Center by typing...wscui.cpl, also from the Run box.
