Can anyone recommend me a good free mp3 converter?

Hi Folks,

I need to get my hands on a good, free and simple to use little prog that will convert CD music to MP3's.

The reason why I need it to be a simple one is that my uncle needs one and he hasn't a clue about computers.

Also, for myself I need a prog that will convert my mp3's to CD format so i can play it in my car! My car stereo can only play normal cd's.

To convert to MP3-> Winamp, or MusicMatch Jukebox, I use 'em both and find them good. To convert back to CD Audio, I use Nero 6. It came with my CD-RW, and I find it works well.

You can always use windows media player.

ah ok cool, didn't realise you could use windows media player. Does it convert mp3's back to cd format?
I have a lot of mp3's that would be cool to play in my car stereo but it doesn't recognise mp3's
