Help /w installing new HD . . .

Ok, ive never put in a new hd before so i need a little help. I see that my current old hd has a ribbon plugged into both my motherboard (obviously) and my cdrom drive. I don't know why it is plugged into the cdrom drive, and whether it is necessary. If someone could give me a brief description as to how to install another hd, i would greatly appreciate it.

What you will probably want to do is set both hard drives on the same cable. The Cd-ROM Drive needs to be on its own cable. If you boot from the smaller drive, set that one to Master and your new drive to slave. Connect the drives (smaller drive on the connector that is farther away from the mobo connector, larger one on the clsoer one.)
