6800+althlon 64?

Hey,
Brand spankin new member here.
I recieved an albatron 6800 gt for christmas ( sweet deal huh?) and im going to upgrade my system specs. Heres what i had
amd xp2000+
512 megs of no name pc2100
5700u

thinkin about getting:

athlon 64 3000+
abit av8 (k8t800 chipset)
1gig corsair twinx pc3200
albatron 6800gt ( i just recieved)

anybody have any trouble with a setup like this?
any suggestions on this hardware that maybe i should change?
i think its a good start on a hoss of system but any tips would definitely be helpful

yes, also i might add that its a socket 939 board, but the 6800gt is agp, so i wont be going pci x for awhile, should i pony up the extra cash for a 3200+?

I'd grab the 3200+ over the 3000+ just for the 10x multiplier. As for motherboard I would go with the MSI K8n neo2 platinum. For RAM I would probably go with some of this stuff.

That RAM would be great for overclocking and really cheap. It uses TCCD chips on a brainpower PCB.

You will also need a HSF. The XP-90 will be good (XP-120 does not fit on MSI board) also get a Panaflo fan.

As for your video card I have not heard anything really about the albatron. Any reason in particular you chose it? I myself like the Leadtek because of the nice stock cooling.

i didnt really choose the albatron, it was a gift from my parents, and seeing as it was incredibly awesome that they got it for me, im not gonna take it back. I havent really heard any negative reviews on the albatron, and it advertises 2ns memory. we'll see what happens.
as for the patriot ram, would going the corsair twinx route be downgrading from the patriot ram you linked on newegg? i only ask because monarch is offering a package deal that comes with farcry and hl2, ( the ram is 198$ and its setup and tested)

Theres nothing wrong with the Albatron. When I was reading your post I was just reviewing your list at the bottom of your first post for suggestions and missed the part where it said you already had it.

As for the memory someone else can comment on that. I don't really know how exactly it compares to the Patriot memory. I recommended the Patriot as I have seen very good oc's with it and considering it's price it is a good buy.
