I bought the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system yesterday. Currently, it is hooked up to my integrated audio. With these type of speakers, should I buy a good sound card? Is a SoundBlaster Live good enough? And will it make that much of a difference?

Unless you have an nvidia nforce based integrated chipset, you'll find that the Audigy line of boards deliver good sound, low signal to noise ratios and the ability to decode Dolby Digital signals for DVD pleasure. Also, lower CPU utilization is a trademark of a good hardware scheme.

the decoding dvds for audigy is pointless. get windvd platinum and voila, you get software dvd decoding.

The speaker wire on the speakers seems flimsy. Should I buy the monster cable upgrade?
