I'm running an asus p2b-f at 112 fsb right now. 1.8 core. Went to 115 fsb and 1.85 and she held for 30 min of Vuorio's CPU Stability Test 5.2 on the hardcore mode. Then I got an "unexpected error." No lockup, just the error and the test ended.
I left the settings, rebooted, cleaned things up (file checker, scandisk, defrag) and played normally for about 2 hours. Then got a bsod. Went back to 112 and 1.8 and things are fine. I have pc100 ram. I'm thinking that's it. Also, at 115 my pci bus hits 40. That's bad. Suggestions or have i maxed out.

Buy yourself some PC133 Cas 2 ram and a good heatsink. From the info you gave you are very close to stable. Also watch your AGP bus. If you're running with side band addressing on, it may fight your attempts to go higher. Also try to keep your video card cool.

windows will give you VxD errors and registry errors if you ram is to slow... This also happens right away most of the time.... Windows may also great you with a BSOD apon startup.
I would like to agree that its only your ram but im going to disagree and say nope your about maxed at 952 which is still a great overclock unless you want to sell your left nut to the overclocking gods for a few more mhz. It might not be worth it to put all of the extra money into your system to go a couple mhz faster. I mean if you think about it... you will start buying new memory and then new heatsinks and then more fans, watercooling rigs, new cases, ect. Its a vicious cycle.
my celly 566 goes up to 995 @ 117 which is pretty amazing but I run it at 952 for stability because it gets really hot even with my alpha pal 6035.

I agree with Ebola. The OC Gods ask too much. This chip only cost me 44 bucks and the whole box is put together. Didn't cost more than 180 bucks. That and a lot of tweaking which is the fun part. Thanks to all for the input. (Who am I kidding. I'll be getting some ram this weekend.) Great forum.

have you checked it out in Sandra....if you go to mainboard information module and look under memory information sometimes it will tell you what speed your ram is rated
download sandra at www.sisoftware.co.uk

Sandra does say that it's rated for 100. That OC virus just won't let me believe specs. I will be getting some 133. I wish I could get some cpu temps. Seems like the asus 370-dl won't let me pick up the sensor. I've tried every monitor program I can find and even thorgh some of them will give me a reading, when I run a burnin, nothing changes. I use a laser probe I use at work (AC tech) and it tells me i'm safe (34c idle, 43c load) but I just wish I could be sure. I wrote Asus and they did get back to me......till I blew it and let it slip I was oc'ing. It was like I had the "mange." I'll figure it out.
If you knew for sure that your cooling was working good and you were not overheating, I'd suggest trying 1.9 volts. You are so close to being stable. Maybe a little extra cooling, a tiny bit of voltage increase, and better RAM just might do the trick. We will keep our fingers crossed. Good luck. Oh yeah, at 115 FSB, your PCI bus should be at 38.3 MHz, not 40 like you stated. With that same C-566 that I sold to Ebona, I was able to run it and benchmark it at 115 FSB, but my PCI bus would crash at anything higher. Like the others have already said, getting 952 out of a C-566 is awesome.

I got ahold of a 256mb 133 stick and threw it in. upped the core to 1.85 and I'm stable at 977 with a 115 fsb. Stable means about 2 hours of sandra. Temps stayed low (I still haven't got any real readings but the sink was barely warm.)
I think this is about it. I think the agp and pci speed will top me out. Thanks all for the help.
Nice overclock, I'm proud of you.
