View Full Version : memtest86
Ok im overclocking my 2000+
i have PC2700 Value RAM as in my sig.
Im currently at 170FSB.
should i run memtest86 to check for errors at every 5fsb increase until it fails?
Thats exactly what I do. Then when I fail a test I back down by two mhz untill I find the stable fsb. Then I see if I can increase timings at that speed.

Not always, if its just 2-5mhz higher it wont kill it. But if you run a 400mhz module at 533 (like someone I know) you have dead ram
