Well my good modem died and knowing a DSL ethernet modem is going to be order at the end of the month I bought a CHEAPO modem(winmodem of course :( )@$24

When I try to share the connection via the windows IC sharing My modem(my previous modem did this as well) will not send or recieve ANY data PERIOD. Remove IC sharing and it works again.

My network is working just fine now after reinstalling windows on the other machine it started cooperating.

system#1
ecs k7s5a built in LAN

System#2
cheap NIC(realtek chip)@$18

Any ideas? My dad is dying cuz he can't get to the internet other than on my system.*I'm tired of listening to him gripe/using my system*

Think some other IC sharing software would be better? Any of it freeware?

what does it take to setup a dedicated server such as that? I got a few spare parts...have a 300mhz k6-2 and an OLD dx4 100mhz chip ;)
some spare, but questionable motherboards(have used in the past and in some cases they may or may not work anymore
