Hey all. i was wondering if you had a solution to me problem: i installed windowsXP (clean install) replacing my previous copy of windowsME. windowsXP boots up a LOT slower than my previous install of ME. its about 2-3 times slower in getting me past the windows logon screen. windowsXP (according to microsoft) is the fastest booting MS OS yet. this doesn't apply with me. i dont have any driver problems or anything and i didn't do anything to modify my boot time in ME. can anyone PLEASE help me?

You must have something not setup correctly, I have win XP installed on one of my machines and it boots about 6 times as fast as my Win2k machines and at least as fast if not faster than the win 98 machines...
Look at your setup and make sure that you have all the proper drivers installed. Also look at the Event Viewer and look for errors...
