Hi I'm on a budget and don't want to spend too much and I'm planning to buy a video card that can run cs source with no slowdowns. I'm not looking for video cards that are over $100. Any suggestions on what I should get to run cs source and possibly other DX9 games over 35fps? Just no slowdowns. I was thinking of cards like 9600, x300 but not sure if it will run well.

System:
ECS K7VTA3
AMD Sempron 2500 @1.85GHz
GeForce3 TI200 64MB
2x256 PC2700, 2100 Crucial

Also, I have a question, how does PCI express cards differ from AGP? How can I tell if my mobo works with PCI express?

I think the 9600 pro or XT should do you good.A nice upgrade from your TI200.

darkchakra,

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS.

look for a 9600pro or 9600xt, maybe a used one.

yet if you can add a little more money, then go for a used/referbed 9700pro.
it will last you longer and should still be cheap.
maybe about $100-$125.00 used.

need more help? PM me for more info on used/refurbed item buying.
