It's been a while since I last folded, are there any new clients, or utilities out that support WU caching? I'd love to start folding again, but can't keep the phone tied up all night cause my Dad has cancer and he may need to call me if there is an emergency . . . .

ehhh? It only takes 10 or 20 seconds to download or upload a WU. You don't need to be on-line much longer than that.

Yeah, but I've got three PCs, and a will have a fourth once a board to my liking based on the kt266a chipset comes out.
Also, is there anyway to hide the F@H process under win98?

Hey dimm...I use folding voyeur, it'll work fine to hide the thing. Wish I could find the link where I got it.
I think it started out as molecular voyeur, you could look there.
BTW, let me know when you find a kt266a board you like. I think that's the one I want- a ddr raid board, right?

Nah, I don't want raid, I'm too cheap to buy an extra harddrive :) So why pay more for raid?
I just want the kt266a chipset, cause it has like 20% more memory bandwidth than the kt266 chipset. Fastest SocketA chipset I've seen to date . . . .

does the kt266a use a VIA KM133A chipset? The two cheap boards here are the Soltek KM133 and the Gigabyte KM133A. I'm trying to find out what the equivilent there is - I think we get them from asia
oh, and EM has a steath mode and possibly an option to connect and disconnect automatically using a modem - or you just might have to wonder past occasionally and press the OK button (disconnect automatically). I've got the link on my folding page.

Hey Jeff
Would be great to have you back, but we understand your reasons for not folding.
We are currently waiting for the release of the v2.0 client! :)
I hope to see some more of you around here. C ya

Jeff,
2.0 should be released any day. The team number is 32. There is a program EM, that will let you hide it, and it will close the connection when it is done. It has several other options you can choose. It can be downloaded here. (http://homepages.waymark.net/~lperry/weather/download/em.zip) Or at the overclockers-folding website under links. Another option would be to run 2 or 3 clients at once, and set them to ask to connect-yes. That it will take all day to complete 3 units-and you can connect them when you want.
hey jeff nice to see u mihgt be folding again
u could set up IE to dial when a concetion is needed??
There should be cacheing with 2.0, so the dial-up won't be as much as a problem.

I've got the kt133-a chipset on my Iwill kk266 board (non-raid)
seems to do well for me, but things can ALWAYS get better...of course things can always get worse too...
