I bought one of these pieces of junk about 5 months ago and installed it on my other computer, PIII 733mhz Micron and had all kinds of problems installing it, when I would install it I would always get BSOD's... so after smashing my head against my desk a few hundred times I broke down and called Philips tech support (thats what they call it anyways...more like underpaid phone monkeys if you ask me) so anyways the dude tells me that I have to uninstall my NIC which I use for DSL, then install the soundcard and it should work, he stated that it was a known problem for people who use NICS with their DSL... Well heres my thoughts on this, it's the year 2001 a TON of people in America alone use DSL, why wouldnt they have put some kind of note in the instructions or box? I mean, do they honestly think that there arent many people in the US that use DSL? OK so back to my story. I uninstall my NIC and disable it in the device manager and install the soundcard..no problems...BUT WAIT. I would be playing a game (lots of different ones mind you, not just one) and all sound would stop working until I rebooted! So then I reboot, it happens 15 minutes later while playing a game. Yes folks, I have downloaded the most current drivers. So I eventually just use the crappy audio built into my Micron's MOBO. (which eats up CPU cycles) And put the Philips in a ziploc bag and place it out of sight because the mere sight of it causes a migraine, after all I didnt wanna throw it away, it costed me $95 at the time. I figured it was a compatibilty problem with the chipset or Intel MOBO in my Micron that Philips has yet to discover. So anyways I'll end the story with this, I just buily my new rig and I decided to give it another try...same thing happens, and yes people I downloaded the most current drivers.

So here's my dilemma: what do I do with this inferior piece of silicon? Do I..

A: Hang it from a tree and blast on it with my Mossberg 20 gauge
B: Set it on fire and do some 'Jimi Hendrix' style tongue lashin'
C: Put it up for auction on eBay for some poor unsuspecting soul to buy from me.
D: Stomp the sh** out of it and throw it on the highway.

The fate of my soundcard is in your hands...
