I am thinking of building the power supply for a peltier from the article on overclockers.com instead of spending loads of money on a meanwell, and I would like to know if the 12.5A rating on the 12V transformer Here (http://www.jprelec.co.uk/docs/order_code.asp?pCode=%5F0V80RA4HG&PGID=%5F0V712SMSS&LEVEL=1&SearchType2=6&MODE=&PARTNO=&KEYWORD=&PG=Transformers+%26+Wound+Components&RELATED=0&rtype=A&OC=NONE&TEMP=NONE) refer to each secondary or to them both, i.e. I could wire them in parallel for 25A. I assume its each since it is rated at 300VA but I want to make sure before I buy it.

Why do you need Transformer? It's pretty much obsolet.

I'm an't lady...
About the reason of using Transformer is for Safety.
However, you can get one 24Volt 10amp from Jameco Electronic for $40.
Your TV, DVD,..VCR player Don't use any Transformer; however, once manufactureres did.
Go to Switching PSU on this forum. They show you how to build with or without Transformer.

I am designing my own also.
