Hi, as u can tell im nu here so if u reply can u keep it simple tx. Right, my 56k, as of all them do, normally d/l @ 5kb a second wich really sux:(. My m8 came here and got his 56k to do 20kb a second:eek:.
Can anyone help me to do this? any help appreciated

uh...I think that's impossible. I don't know what the rules about it are over there, but phone lines are capped at 53.3 here. why dont you ask your m8 what he did?:)

it's not possible.......the government ppl decided to cap all phonelines.........probably the thing is just displaying d/l speed wrong

are you doing this with IE? if so then that must be it
IE always report wrong speeds

If you are downloading text, the compression on it really helps.. text can download alot faster than compressed files (.zip) that can't be compressed anymore.

Yes it is impossible.

20 Kbytes download is actually about 160 Kilobits. Impossible for a 56 Kilobit modem, that is capped by the FCC at 53.3.
