Ive got 512 of kingston 3200 value crap with junky timings, I'm planning on getting a gig (2x 512) of that patriot 3200 2-2-2-5 ram.

this may sound kind of newbish, but I havent looked much into the memory scene:

If I use all three modules together, will the junky ram lower the speed of of the 2-2-2-5 ram? (sort of like 'only as good as the weakest link')

I guess I'm asking if I would see better performance with 1.5 Gigs of mixed ram or just 1 gig of the 2-2-2-5 in Dual channel mode?

I would just go with the 2x512 of Patriot, that stuff is awesome, and you will not use more than 1024 ram for a long time. The cheap stuff will limit the patriot badly, and you will not be able to use dual channel.
