View Full Version : Multipliers on A7M266
How?
Even on user define I cannot change them. Yes, the chip is an unlocked AXIA 1.33 ghz. I've never delt with or even used an ASUS Mobo, so I'm not sure how good this board is. Seems to run wonderfully. But what settings for Jumerfree, or jumpered do I need to change the Multipliers...

This post should be in "AMD motherboards".....
To modify multiplier on the A7M266 you need to do a mod - it involves soldering a DIP switch and a resistor onto the mobo. A google search for "A7M multiplier mod" should return what you need.

well, you can't. :(
i have the same board and am very pleased with it's stability and performance but the lack of multiplier adjustments because of a @^*$^@ agreement with amd is a problem. you can do the multiplier mod but it's really difficult cause you have to replace two resistors (RN19 and RN20) which are really hard to solder back on. if you're not good at soldering you could go to an electronics shop with the board and they'll do it for ya. anyway, there's still the fsb overclocking option which i prefer. higher fsb improves overall perfomance not only cpu performance. just my 2 cents, I hope it helped you a bit.
